35 GDP Students Awarded with “All-Round Achievers” Certificate
Okayama University aims to educate students to become capable members of society that make appropriate judgements and contribute to local and international communities. As such, the university promotes a 3 x 3 (three by three) education that encourages students to acquire competency in three core areas (general learning ability, linguistic ability, and expertise) and to acquire experience in three fields (interdisciplinary, intersocial, and intercultural) so that they can gain the confidence and skills necessary to be active on the global stage. Since 2016, Okayama University has awarded 4th year students who demonstrate competency and experience in the areas and fields mentioned above with “All-Round Achievers” certificates as a means to both motivate students and recognize their achievements. This academic year, 35 out of 60 GDP 4th year students were selected for the award.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to hold the annual awards ceremony due to the spread of the coronavirus; however, students still smiled cheerfully upon being individually congratulated by GDP staff members when they collected their certificates.
