Nurul Fikri Integrated Islamic High school students visited Okayama University on an educational trip.
Thirty-four high school students and seven accompanying teachers from Nurul Fikri Integrated Islamic High School, located in the suburbs of Jakarta, Indonesia, visited our university on Tuesday, October 28th, as part of their educational trip.
First, Mr. Yusuke Nii, senior expert staff of the Global Network Project to Promote Study in Japan
(ASEAN Regional Office) affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s (MEXT), provided an useful information for students aspiring to study at Japanese universities, including the differences between Japanese national/public universities and private universities, characteristics of entrance examinations, and scholarships.
Referring to the regional office in Jakarta and Surabaya, Indonesia, Mr. Nii also invited students to participate in upcoming Japan Study Abroad Fairs and seminars in Indonesia.
From GDP, Associate Professor Haruna Miyagawa introduced the distinctive features of GDP’s curriculum, its educational philosophy, and the international admissions. The Nurul Fikri stiudents asked numerous questions about studying at Okayama University and GDP, as well as life in Okayama. Aisyah Shobrina, fourth year GDP student from Jakarta, answered these questions in their native language.
During the visit to Okayama University, the group toured the campus and enjoyed a halal lunch on the beautiful terrace, where the autumn leaves were just beginning to change color. Afterward, they moved on to their next destination, Kibichuo Town, located to the northwest of Okayama City.
Educational trips to Japan are popular among Indonesian students, visiting Tokyo, Osaka, and Okayama.
