Awards granted by Okayama University
1. Kokusho Awards
Given to top students in recognition of their outstanding academic and personal achievements. One GDP student is selected from each graduating class in March and September. This award is presented at the graduation ceremony.
2. Student representative of graduating class
Given to students in recognition of their excellent academic achievements. One GDP student is selected from the graduating class every year in March and every few years in September. The selected students are awarded their diplomas by the Okayama University president at the graduation ceremony. GDP’s first graduate was selected in September, 2021.
3. Kanemitsu Awards
Given to students in recognition of their significant academic performance and positive impact within and beyond the GDP community through local and international activities. Only one GDP student is selected per year. This award is presented at the matriculation ceremony in April. Award winners are awarded 50,000 yen and are invited to join the Okayama University Alumni Network.

1. Director Awards
Given to students in recognition of their significant academic performance and contribution to local communities, Okayama University, or GDP. Several students are selected from each graduating class in March and September. This award is presented at the GDP graduation ceremony.
2. Language Awards
Given to students in recognition of their significant achievements in language learning (Japanese/English) during 4 years of study. Several students are selected from each graduating class in March and September. This award is presented at the GDP graduation ceremony.
